Sumo Show & Ring Experience — Authentic Tokyo

Two things you won't find in central Tokyo: a sumo ring anyone can step onto, and a neighborhood that isn't built for tourists. At Sunamachi Ginza Sumo Stable, you get both.

Watch two former professional wrestlers train and face off just meters away — no stage, no barrier. Then, if you like, change into a real mawashi and step barefoot onto an authentic dohyo, hand-built by a professional yobidashi with the same clay and sand as the Ryogoku Kokugikan. Women and children can enter the ring too, unlike professional sumo.

It all happens on Sunamachi Ginza, a genuine local shopping street with 140 shops since 1932. Arrive 30–45 minutes early, pick up real street food from the local shops, and bring it in — there's no set tourist menu here.

About 90 minutes. English support throughout. Families welcome (ages 4+; under 4 free). Held year-round, almost every day.
